Description: Learn how to reconcile your transaction data between DataNow and Lighthouse Transaction Manager (LTM). If the totals do not match after following these steps, contact the Shift4 Venue help desk for further assistance.

Ensure devices are synced and orders are closed

Before reconciling, confirm that all devices have no unsynced or open orders:

  • Use the Device Monitoring report in DataNow to identify any devices with Approved Offline or Completion Pending orders.

  • Sync and close all orders as soon as possible after an event. Unresolved orders can fail to sync and result in lost revenue.

Important: The Calendar Date filter shows the order’s creation date, not all open orders. Adjust filters accordingly.

To review details on open orders:

  • Select the Orders or Gross Sales Totals to access a Transactional Report.

  • Download the report to examine the data in detail.

Note: Schedule a recurring Device Monitoring report to regularly check for open orders.

Retrieve and compare settlement totals

Once all devices are synced:

  1. In DataNow, open the Settlements report.

  2. Enter the Effective Business Date and Processor (Shift4).

    • If the Effective Business Date is NULL, it reflects the date the transaction synced to the server.

  3. Locate the Settlement Amount for that date.

Next, compare this amount to LTM:

  1. Log in to your LTM instance.

  2. Select Archived Batches from the Transactions menu.

  3. Find the Net Amount for the same business date.

    • This is the total dollar amount processed for that date.

Note: Some batches may settle days after an event due to offline orders. Always reference the Business Date, not the processing date, when reconciling.

Confirm reconciliation

  • If the Settlement Amount in DataNow matches the Net Amount in LTM, reconciliation is complete.

  • If the amounts do not match, contact support and include:

    • The variance amount

    • The percent of total sales the variance represents
