This guide walks you through setting up Xpedite Mobile or Kiosk Tablets with printers. Xpedite supports the following Menu Models:

⚠️ Important: This guide covers network printer setup only. While Bluetooth printers can be used, they must remain physically next to the tablet for reliable communication.

ℹ️ Note: The Xpedite App must be requested in advance. If you are unsure if it has been created for your venue, please contact your Account Manager or πŸ“§ venuesupport@shift4.com.


πŸ“ What is Xpedite?
The Xpedite App allows venues to receive Mobile and Kiosk orders at concession locations.

  • Installed on an iPad
  • Acts as the Print Controller for all Mobile and Kiosk order fulfillment

πŸ–₯️ Creating a Tablet in Canopy Classic
Creating a tablet ensures your Mobile/Kiosk Revenue Center (RVC) can be selected in the Xpedite App.

  1. Log into Canopy 2.0 β†’ From the upper-left dropdown under your Venue Name, select Canopy Classic

  2. Navigate to F&B > Xpedite Devices (defaults to the Tablets page)

  3. Follow the guide: Creating Xpedite Tablets in Canopy Classic to build your tablet configuration
  4. Complete any related printing setup guides
  5. On your iPad, open the Xpedite App and select the new tablet configuration

πŸ–¨οΈ Setting Up Printers in Canopy Classic

  1. In Canopy Classic, go to F&B > Xpedite Devices > Printers

  2. Select + Add Printer in the upper right
  3. Complete the fields:
    • Name – Assign a name that aligns with the tablet
    • Type – Select printer type
    • Connection – Keep as TCP
    • IP Address – Enter the printer’s IP

  4. Click Create

Your printer will now appear in the device list. Use search to quickly locate it.

πŸ”§ For Xpedite, you can:

  • Configure Production Lines & Routing Groups for item-level routing
  • Or assign a printer directly to the Xpedite Tablet for all items to print from the menu

πŸ“± Selecting Your Tablet in Xpedite App On your iPad:

  1. Open the Xpedite App
  2. Assign the following:
    • Venue – Should default to your venue (select if not)
    • Location – The Revenue Center sending orders/prints
    • Tablet – Select from tablets you created in Canopy Classic
    • Counters – Leave as N/A

  3. Tap Continue

  • Run test orders via your Mobile site or Kiosk
  • Verify that orders display correctly in Xpedite and that chits print as expected
