POS Login - Scan Employee Badge

Supported in QS POS version 2.48 and higher, this feature allows employee badges containing a Barcode or QR Code to be scanned from a USB-connected Zebra scanner on an L1400 or A800 camera scanner to log in and approve manager functions.

 

Note: Scanning Badges only works on the PAX L1400 and PAX A800; it does not work with PAX E700s.

  • Barcodes and QR codes should be generated utilizing the employee’s External ID, which must be numeric only. Please follow this guide to learn how to create POS Users with an External ID

    • Note: Existing attendants created with an automatically generated UUID for the External ID will need to be updated with a numeric External ID.

  • If a device detects an externally connected scanner, it will automatically be activated when navigating to the PIN screen

  • To scan from an A800, the user may tap the Scan button in the bottom left of the keypad to activate the scanner (camera permissions must be granted in the Android settings)
