Purpose

This guide provides installation and verification steps for the 24V T3400 Elys Hub (Revision V003) to ensure proper power delivery and reliable operation of the L1400 terminal and connected peripherals.

Included Hardware

  • T3400 Elys Hub – Revision V003 (24V)

Installation Instructions

Connection Steps

  1. Disconnect all peripheral connections from the installed hub. If necessary remove the hub from the bracket.

  2. Connect the existing power cable to the T3400 Elys Hub.

  3. Use a USB-C cable to connect the T3400 Hub to the L1400 terminal.

  4. If using a wired network, connect an Ethernet cable.

  5. (Optional) Connect USB peripherals such as a receipt printer or barcode scanner to the available USB ports on the T3400 Hub.

Post-Installation Verification

After installation, verify that the L1400, hub, and all connected peripherals are receiving power and functioning correctly.

Power & Peripheral Verification

  • Confirm the white status light on the L1400 is illuminated, indicating the terminal is powered on.

  • If a barcode scanner is connected:

    • Verify the scanner emits a beep tone on power-up, confirming it is receiving power.

  • If a receipt printer is connected:

    • Confirm the printer powers on and is able to print a test receipt or status output.

  • Verify cash drawer operation by performing the following:

    • Open the cash drawer using the Debug option.

    • Complete a cash sale transaction.

    • Perform multiple open and close cycles, manually closing the drawer between tests.

Expected Result:

  • The L1400 remains powered on.

  • All connected peripherals (scanner, printer, cash drawer) are powered and responsive.

  • The cash drawer opens immediately and consistently with no delay.

ℹ️ Note
Indicator lights, audible tones, and printer output may vary by device model but should clearly confirm power and normal operation.

How to Identify the Correct Hub Revision

⚠️ Important
Cash drawer reliability depends on using the correct hub revision.

  • V003 = 24V (Required for Cash Drawers)

  • V002 = 12V (Not Supported for Cash Drawers)

The hub revision is printed directly on the hub label
Although hubs may appear visually identical, only Revision V003 provides the required power output for reliable cash drawer operation.

Common Questions & Notes

ℹ️ Note
Cash drawers that have not been powered on recently may require a brief warm-up period. Once powered, normal operation should resume.

Reminder
Always verify the hub revision before installation. Installing an unsupported hub may result in delayed or inconsistent drawer openings.

Troubleshooting

If the L1400, hub, or any connected peripherals are not powering on or functioning as expected, review the following steps:

  1. Verify the power cable is securely connected to the T3400 Hub and power source.

  2. Check the USB-C connection from the power brick to the hub:

    • Ensure it is fully seated in the hub.

    • This connection may appear plugged in but can require additional pressure to seat properly.

  3. Verify the USB-C connection between the hub and the L1400 is secure.

  4. Confirm all USB connections for peripherals (printer and scanner) are properly seated in the hub.

  5. If using Ethernet, verify the Ethernet cable is securely connected.

  6. Power-cycle the hub, L1400, and connected peripherals.

  7. Repeat the Post-Installation Verification steps.

ℹ️ Note: Loose or partially seated USB-C or USB connections are a common cause of power or peripheral detection issues.
