Description: Learn how to set up locations, menus, and items in Shift4 Venue to support autonomous retail providers Zippin and Amazon Just Walk Out. This integration enables mobile wallet QR code entry, discounting, and payment functionality.
If autonomous retail has not yet been configured for your organization, contact your Account Manager or Shift4 Venue support to request enablement.
Location Configuration Guidelines
Both Zippin (ZPN) and Amazon Just Walk Out (JWO) require specific configurations, including naming conventions and identifiers, to ensure successful integration with Shift4 Venue’s mobile wallet.

Choose Revenue Centers.

Select Add a Menu, and apply an Autonomous Menu Model.
Assign the appropriate items to the menu.
Note: To prevent the location from appearing in mobile ordering, toggle visibility off. This option is only available in Canopy 1.0; it will be added to Canopy 2.0 in a future update.
Configure Menu Items
All items sold through autonomous retail must:
Be included in the designated Menu.
Use SKUs that exactly match the integrator's item IDs, including leading zeros.
Perform a SKU Audit
To ensure SKUs are correctly aligned:
In DataNow, pull the Venue Config report. Use filters for location, item, price, and SKU.
For Amazon Just Walk Out, pull the Catalog Report from Amazon.
For Zippin, verify item IDs match Shift4 Venue SKUs.
Note: Zippin requires all SKUs to be in uppercase. To adjust: go to Canopy 2.0 > Menus > Items and update the SKU field.
Important: Updating an item’s SKU will remove its image. You must re-upload the image after updating.
