This article explains how to search for, register, manage, and add hardware devices in Canopy 2.0. The hardware section allows users to manage all devices linked to the POS system, ensuring they are properly configured and connected.
How to Search for Specific Hardware
- In Canopy 2.0, select the Devices drop-down on the left side of the screen.
- Choose Hardware from the list.
- All available hardware will be displayed on the page.
- To search for specific hardware, use the search box on the right side of the page.
Note: Enter the exact name of the desired hardware device. - All matching hardware will appear.
- Select the desired hardware to open the Edit Hardware panel.
Managing Hardware
In the Edit Hardware panel, you can view and manage the following details:
- Device (Serial Number)
- Device Name
- Linked Configuration
- Type
- Connection Status
After making any necessary changes, select Save at the bottom of the panel. To discard changes, select the X at the top right of the panel.
How to Add Hardware
- In Canopy 2.0, select the Devices drop-down on the left side of the screen.
- Choose Hardware from the list.
- Select the blue plus icon at the top right of the page to open the Add Hardware panel.
In the Add Hardware panel, you can enter the following information:
- Device (Serial Number)
- Device Name
- Linked Configuration
- POS
Once all required information is added, select Save to create the hardware. To discard changes, select the X at the top right corner of the panel.
How to Register or Deregister Hardware
- In Canopy 2.0, select the Devices drop-down on the left side of the screen.
- Choose Hardware from the list.
- At the top of the page, you will see two tabs: Registered and Pending.
- To register hardware:
Select the Pending tab to view hardware awaiting registration. Check the box next to the desired Serial Number, then select the Register button at the bottom of the page. - To deregister hardware:
Select the Registered tab to view currently registered hardware. Check the box next to the desired Serial Number, then select the Deregister button at the bottom of the page.
- To register hardware:
When deregistering hardware, a Confirm Deregister popup will appear. Select OK to confirm deregistration.
