This article explains how to search for, register, and manage hardware devices in Menu Manager. The hardware section allows users to manage all devices linked to the POS system, ensuring they are properly configured and connected. This would include PAX E700s, L1400s A930s, and A800 Devices.

 


 

How to Search for Specific Hardware

  1. Access Menu Manager Devices by going to your instance-devices.ordernext.com
  2. In Menu Manager, select the Devices drop-down on the left side of the screen.
  3. Choose Hardware from the list.
  4. All available hardware will be displayed on the page.
  5. To search for specific hardware, use the search box on the right side of the page.
    Note: Enter the exact name of the desired hardware device OR the first 5 digits of the Device ID or Serial Number. You can find the first 5 digits of the Device ID at the POS. Log on to the SkyTab Venue POS>Admin Panel(3 lines top left corner)>Tap Debug>Hardware section Device ID.
  6. All matching hardware will appear.
  7. Select the desired hardware to open the Edit Hardware panel.

 


 

How to Register or Deregister Hardware


This will cover how to manually register hardware(POS workstation or handheld device) per singular unit or in bulk, and explain how to deregister a device(s).

  1. In Menu Manager, select the Devices drop-down on the left side of the screen.
  2. Choose Hardware from the list.
  3. At the top of the page, you will see two tabs: Registered and Pending.
    • To register hardware:
      • Note: Before registering hardware it’s important to make sure that you have the correct Venue selected first if you’re a multi-venue property. This is seen at the top left of the page under the Venue drop-down. Ensure the desired Venue is selected and then proceed with registration.
      • Select the Pending tab to view hardware awaiting registration. Check the box next to the desired Serial Number, then select the Register button at the bottom of the page.
    • To deregister hardware:
      • Select the Registered tab to view currently registered hardware. Check the box next to the desired Serial Number, then select the Deregister button at the bottom of the page.

When deregistering hardware, a Confirm Deregister popup will appear. Select OK to confirm deregistration.

 


 

Managing Hardware

In the Edit Hardware panel, you can view and manage the following details:

Note: Treat this as a View Only page as no modifications to hardware should be made. All information here is pulled directly from the device once connected and registered to a Venue. If you believe something here is inaccurate and modifications should be made to existing hardware please contact venuesupport@shift4.com.

  • Device (Serial Number)
  • Device Name
  • Linked Configuration
  • Type
  • Connection Status

After making any necessary changes, select Save at the bottom of the panel. To discard changes, select the X at the top right of the panel.
