Create and Manage Revenue Centers in Shift4 Venue

Description: Learn to create and configure Revenue Centers in Shift4 Venue. Revenue Centers represent specific sales locations at your venue — such as concession stands, bars, and kiosks — and control order routing, reporting, and menu availability.


Create a Revenue Center

Navigate to Revenue Centers

  1. Open a browser and go to your-instance-menu.ordernext.com, replacing your-instance with your venue's instance name.
  2. From the left menu, select Revenue Centers.
  3. Select the blue + icon in the top right to begin.

Enter Revenue Center Details

An Add a Revenue Center panel appears. Complete the following fields:

Required

  • Name — Enter a clear name for the location.
  • Time Zone — Select your local time zone.
  • Business End Time — Set when your business day ends for reporting purposes. Defaults to 3:00 AM if not set.

Optional

  • Revenue Center Image — Displays in Mobile Ordering and on Customer-Facing Displays.
  • Revenue Center Merchant — Required for Card Not Present menus, such as Mobile Pickup.

Add a Menu to the Revenue Center

  1. Scroll to the Menus section and select Add a Menu.
  2. Complete the following fields:

Required

  • Internal Name — Used internally only.
  • Display Name — The name customers see.
  • Menu Model — Select how the menu is used (Point of Sale, Kiosk, Mobile, etc.).

Optional

  • Menu Image — Replaces the Revenue Center image for this specific menu.
  • Menu Merchant — Required for Card Present menus, such as Point of Sale or Kiosk.
  • Business Hours — Defines availability for Mobile and Kiosk menus.
  1. Select Save to return to the Revenue Center panel.

Configure Additional Options

Aisles

Assign aisles if your venue uses a Seat Manifest. This allows seat, table, or suite selection during checkout.

Mobile Ordering Filter Data

Create customer filters such as location or cuisine type. Filters appear in Mobile Ordering and show only the relevant Revenue Centers to customers.

Reporting Filter Data

Assign reporting tags to group Revenue Centers for streamlined reporting. In DataNow, use the Revenue Center Group filter to view results by the groups you create.

Payment and Tender Settings

Configure payment options here or manage them venue-wide from the Venue-Wide Settings page.

  • Cash Tender — Enable to accept cash payments.
  • Ticket Tender — For third-party integrations using ticket value.
  • Gift Card Tender — For third-party gift card systems.

Tip Configuration

Customize the guest tip experience per Revenue Center. Set tip percentages or preset amounts. Venue-level tip settings apply by default but can be overridden here.

Charity Donation

Toggle whether this Revenue Center accepts charitable donations. Charities are configured under Venue Settings.

Note: If a Revenue Center or menu is created incorrectly, contact Shift4 Support to request removal.

Save and Edit a Revenue Center

  1. Select Save once all configuration is complete.
  2. To edit a Revenue Center, select it from the list and update any field as needed, including menus.
