Set up A800 devices in Shift4 Venue

Description: This guide walks you through setting up A800 devices to ensure full functionality with the Shift4 Venue app, including network configuration, Android settings, and application setup.


Connect to a Wi-Fi or cellular network

  1. On the home screen, select Settings.

  2. Select Network & internet.
    Note: You may be prompted for a password to access Android settings. The default password is pax9876@@.

  3. Choose one of the following network types:

    • Wi-Fi: Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a secure network.

    • Cellular: Select Mobile network to use cellular data.
      Important: We recommend using a secure Wi-Fi network for optimal performance. Cellular data is a billable feature.

Configure Android settings

These Android settings must be configured during initial setup to ensure the Shift4 Venue app operates correctly. Connect to a network before adjusting settings to allow automatic updates where applicable.

Set up Shift4 and Shift4 Venue apps

  1. On the home screen, open the Shift4 Venue POS app.

  2. When prompted, allow the app to take pictures and record video.

  3. Scan the QR code with your phone’s camera to proceed to the Canopy login screen.

  4. Log in using your Canopy credentials.
    Note: If you don’t know your password, select Forgot Password.

  5. After logging in, select the appropriate Organization and Venue.
    Important: If you’re unsure which to select, contact venuesupport@shift4.com.

  6. Select Submit, then return to the A800 device and select Done if it hasn’t automatically advanced.

  7. On the device, choose:

    • Concessions POS

  8. Select Next, then choose a menu to complete the setup.
