Background
Merchants allow users to configure Shift4 payments for their Revenue Centers and Menus in Canopy 2.0.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Revenue Center Merchants must be card-not-present Shift4 MIDs
- If the Revenue Center Merchant is a card-present MID, then Mobile Wallet payments (Rich Checkout & QR Pay) will fail and Mobile Ordering Menus will fail.
- POS and Kiosk menu merchants must be card-present Shift4 MIDs
- Refunds, Tabs, Batch Capture and LTM API state adjustments will fail if this is not set.
- All Shift4 MIDs must be GTV enabled
- Mobile Wallet payments will fail if credit cards are vaulted to non-GTV enabled MIDs.
- MIDs cannot be retroactively GTV enabled. Mobile Wallet cards vaulted to non-GTV enabled MIDs will require Engineering to un-vault all cards. The Mobile Wallet users will need to re-add their cards to the new GTV-enabled MID vault.
Note: If your venue still utilizes FreedomPay for any POS or Kiosk menus, Merchants CANNOT be applied. Customers that continue to utilize FreedomPay are required to use Canopy 1.0 until they migrate to full-venue Shift4 processing and should not follow the steps above or below.
Applying Merchants in Canopy 2.0

A Revenue Center Merchant will only be required if a mobile menu has been added. If a mobile menu does not exist on the Revenue Center, the Revenue Center Merchant will not be required.
