Understand Badge Functionality
Badges provide exclusive benefits and access to designated areas. All signed-in users receive a badge. Each badge includes the following:
- Color-based fraud prevention: Select the badge to change its color.
- Loyalty integration: The QR code on the badge can be scanned via the Loyalty App to credit or debit virtual currency.
Note: Badge colors and functionality are configurable based on the user's tier or affiliation.
Who Can Be Assigned to a Tier or Affiliation
Only the following account types support tier and affiliation configuration:
- Ticketmaster Archtic / Team Accounts
- AXS Ticketing Accounts
- Tickets.com (TDC) Accounts
- SeatGeek Accounts
All signed-in users receive a badge. Users not assigned to a specific tier or affiliation default to a general configuration.
Configure Badge Tiers and Affiliations
Badge configurations must be submitted to Shift4 Venue for setup. Provide the following details for each account type.
Ticketmaster Archtic / Team Accounts
- TM Account Group ID (not name)
- Tier/Affiliation Name (e.g., Bronze)
- Primary Hex Color
- Secondary Hex Color
- Rank (Rank 1 is highest priority)
AXS Ticketing Accounts
- Custom Field Value ID (not name)
- Tier/Affiliation Name
- Primary Hex Color
- Secondary Hex Color
- Rank
Tickets.com (TDC) Accounts
- Patron Trait Name
- Tier/Affiliation Name
- Primary Hex Color
- Secondary Hex Color
- Rank
SeatGeek Accounts
- Client Type
- Tier/Affiliation Name
- Primary Hex Color
- Secondary Hex Color
- Rank
Signed-In Users Without a Tier or Affiliation
- Primary Hex Color
- Secondary Hex Color
Note: The badge font color is always white and does not change. Ensure primary and secondary colors maintain sufficient contrast for readability.
Use Badge Tiers in Discounts and Marketplace
Once badge tiers and affiliations are configured, use them to control discounts, promos, and Marketplace exclusivity.
Discounts and Promos
- Go to the Discounts & Promos page in Canopy.
- Create a new Affiliation for each tier, using the exact tier or affiliation name provided to Shift4 Venue.
- Do not assign a Type or Subtype.
- After creating the affiliation, configure the discount as needed.

Marketplace Exclusivity
Marketplace experiences can be restricted to specific tiers or affiliations. This replaces the older season-ticket-holder exclusivity model.
