Canopy allows you to customize the tip options displayed to your guests. This functionality is available in two sections of Canopy 2.0:
- Settings > Venue Settings
- Click the “Configure” button to open the configuration drawer and manage your venue tip settings.
- Menus > Revenue Centers
- When "Enable Tips" is enabled, the tip configurations below will be displayed.
Available Configurations
The following configurations exist at both the Venue-level and Revenue Center-level. Editing the Venue-level settings in any way will apply and overwrite any tip configurations defined at the Revenue Center-levels.
Top-level Configurations
These settings apply to all tip options:
- Include Charges & Fees
- When enabled, tips will be calculated based on the total amount, including service charges and delivery fees.
- Include Promotions
- When enabled, tips will be calculated based on the total amount after applying promotions.
- Enable Custom Tip Option
- When enabled, guests can enter a custom tip amount, replacing the fifth tip option.
Tip Options
At least two and no more than five options may be configured. The options are as follows:
- Tip Option 1: "No Tip" is always enabled and counts towards the minimum/maximum options.
- Tip Option 2-4: You can add or remove multiple custom options up to the allowed maximum.
- Note: You must enter an integer between 1-100 to enable the tip option.
- Tip Option 5:
- When the "Enable Custom Tip Option" is enabled, this tip option will be replaced with "Other".
- When the "Enable Custom Tip Option" is disabled, a custom tip option may be entered.
Set Default Tip Option
This setting allows you to define the tip option that is selected by default for the guest. At this time, the "No Tip" and "Other" tip options are unable to be selected.
Applying "None" on this setting will prevent any configured tip option from being pre-selected on POS, Kiosk, and Mobile Ordering.
Additional Notes:
Tip options displayed to guests are always displayed in a fixed sequence on POS, Kiosk, and Mobile Ordering:
- “No Tip” option (always first)
- Tip Option 2
- Tip Option 3
- Tip Option 4
- Tip Option 5 OR “Other” option (always last)
The Customer-Facing-Display (CFD) presents tip options in a different way and may not reflect the order above.
Any tip configurations that have been set up before the launch of these new settings will remain as-is until modified in Canopy 2.0.
