Exit the Shift4 Venue App in Shift4 Venue

Summary: Use the Debug Modal to quickly access Android settings or restart the Shift4 Venue App without rebooting the POS device. This enables efficient troubleshooting and reduces downtime.

Access the Debug Modal

To access the Debug Modal:

1. While in the Shift4 Venue App, tap the top of the screen seven times.

   

The Debug Modal will appear with the following options:

• Show Navigation Bar

• Restart Application

Restart Application is a faster alternative to rebooting the device and is useful in troubleshooting scenarios.

Show the Navigation Bar

To access Android system settings:

1. In the Debug Modal, select Show Navigation Bar.

   

2. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Android quick settings menu.

3. Select the gear icon to open Android Settings.

   

You can now perform any necessary adjustments or troubleshooting steps.

Hide the Navigation Bar

After completing your changes:

1. Return to the Shift4 Venue App.

2. If needed, tap the top of the screen seven times to reopen the Debug Modal.

3. Select Hide Navigation Bar.

Hiding the navigation bar prevents accidental navigation away from the app. When complete, the navigation bar should no longer be visible at the bottom of the screen.
