Set Up the POS Device in Shift4 Venue

Summary: Follow these steps to register a new POS (point of sale) device and complete setup in Shift4 Venue. This includes selecting the correct organization and venue, choosing the right menu and revenue center, and configuring hardware settings like receipt printers. Register the Device

If prompted to register during setup:

  1. When the QR code appears on the L1400, open Menu Manager.

  2. In Menu Manager, go to Devices > Hardware.

  3. Locate the device listed under Pending and complete the registration.

  4. Once registered, the L1400 will automatically load the application. 

Select the Correct Organization and Venue

For properties with multiple venues, contact Support if you're unsure which venue to select.

Complete Initial Setup

If this is your first time setting up the POS device, configure the following:

  • Device Type:

    • Select Concessions POS if you’re using a handheld A800.

    • Select Concessions Customer Facing Display if you’re using an A3700 CFD.

  • Menu: Select the menu that matches the location.

  • Receipt Printer: Select and configure the receipt printer, if applicable.

Note: You’ll be prompted to enter your PIN to log in. To retrieve your PIN, go to Canopy 2.0 > Settings > POS Accounts.

Change Menus or Revenue Centers

  1. Select the hamburger menu in the top-left corner.

  2. Select Configuration.

  3. Enter your PIN, then select Configuration again.

    • Your account must have Manager access to modify configuration settings.

  4. Choose the desired Revenue Center or Menu.

    • Revenue centers without POS menus (for example, kiosks or mobile ordering) will not appear.

  5. Select the relevant Receipt Printer, if needed.

  6. Select Next, then Done.

Note: You can verify the active menu or revenue center at the top of the screen above the PIN entry field.
