Shift4 Venue POS: Order Notes

Supported on POS version 2.52 and higher, this feature allows POS users to add a note for the kitchen when placing an order and when opening or updating a tab.

Notes:

  • Note will print on the kitchen chit
    • If there is a seat location and a note on the order, the note will print after the location
    • Note will not print on the guest receipt
  • There is not a minimum APK requirement for this feature, but more optimal formatting is available with APK version 2.20.3 and higher
  • The note will persist across service rounds
  • The note can be removed or updated when adding a new service round
  • The device must be online to add a note

 

To Add a Note to an Order

  1. Add at least one item to the cart
  2. Tap the Notes button from the cart; enter and save your Note
  3. The Note will be printed on the kitchen chit

 

To Remove or Update a Note on an Open Tab

  1. View the Order Details drawer for the open tab
  2. Tap Add Item
  3. Add at least one item to the cart
  4. The existing Note will appear in the cart and will print on all subsequent service rounds
  5. To update the existing Note, tap the Note text to open the keyboard > type a new Note and save
  6. To remove the existing Note, tap the X next to it
