Supported on POS and Kiosk in POS version 2.51 and higher, this feature allows operators to configure round up or fixed dollar amount donations for a charity of their choice. Donations are configured at the venue level and can be disabled at individual revenue centers. When configured, guests will be prompted to add a donation during the payment flow.
Notes:
- Only one charity can be supported in a venue at a given time
- The charity donation prompt will not be shown for back bar tabs (i.e. tip on printed slip) menus
- The charity donation prompt will not be shown for cash or custom tender payments
To Configure a Charity Donation
- Go to Canopy 2.0 > Revenue Centers > Venue Settings
- Scroll to Charity Configuration > tap Configure
- Enter a Charity Name
- Enter a Charity Description
- Optional: Upload a jpg or png image - recommended size is 400 x 400
- Once an image is uploaded, it can be replaced with a different, but cannot be removed
- Select Donation Method
- Round Up: Guests will have the option to round up their order total (after tax, tip and fees) to the nearest whole amount
- Fixed Amount: Up to 3 fixed $ amounts plus an optionally enabled custom amount
- Tap Save > the Charity Donation is now enabled for all Revenue Centers in the Venue
To disable for a Revenue Center:
- Go to Canopy 2.0 > Settings > Select a Revenue Center
- Scroll to Charity Donation > toggle off Accept Charity Donations
- Tap Save > the Charity Donation is now disabled for the specific Revenue Center
Adding a Donation on POS or Kiosk
When a charity donation is enabled for a venue, users will be prompted for a donation after entering a tip, when paying with a credit card or scan tender. Charity donations are not support for cash or custom tender payments.
Charity Donations will be displayed as "Donation" on digital and printed receipts.
Note: On APK versions earlier than 2.20, the Donation will appear as a line item in the order on printed receipts.
To View Charity Donation Reporting
Go to DataNow > Dashboards > Charity Donations. Donations will not be reported as revenue.
