How to Print a Receipt from the POS Terminal with Shift4 Venue

Description: Learn how to print a receipt immediately after completing a transaction, as well as how to print a receipt for a past order from the POS terminal.


Note: Ensure the receipt printer is properly connected and configured before attempting to print.

Printing a Receipt After a Transaction

After completing payment on an order, the system will automatically redirect you to the receipt screen.

  • If a compatible and connected receipt printer is available, select Print Receipt to print the receipt.

    Note: If the Print Receipt button does not appear, verify printer connectivity and selection settings.

Printing a Receipt for a Previous Order

To print a receipt for an order that was already completed, follow the steps below:

  1. Log into the POS terminal and access the menu where the order was originally taken.
  2. Confirm that a receipt printer is selected. The Print Receipt option will not appear if no printer is connected.
  3. From the menu page, select the menu icon in the upper-left corner.
  4. Select Orders.
  5. Locate the desired order, then select Details.
  6. Select Receipt.
  7. If a compatible and connected printer is available, select Print Receipt to print the receipt
