SKU assignment should follow a standard of organization that follows a category-based menu hierarchy.

Standards:

F&B

Menu Categories: By following this best practice, menu categories will be identified by single digit integers (i.e. 1001001- the one in the middle marks the category)

Note: The transition of numbers and categories.

We suggest starting your 7-digit SKU number with the following when creating menu items;

  • 1 - Food
  • 2 - Beer
  • 3 - Wine
  • 4 - Liquor
  • 5 - Non-Alcoholic Beverages
  • 6 - Undefined
  • 7 - Retail
  • 8 - Miscellaneous
  • 9 - Modifiers

Item Categories: Will be identified by four-digit integers, the first digit of which is the menu category to which it is associated. We should use the Canopy Display Name to include the number identifier for the category.

  • 1000 - Entrees
  • 1001 - Favorites
  • 1002 - Snacks
  • 1003 - Candy
  • 1004 - N/A

Modifier Item Categories: We should use the following when creating modifier items.

  • 9001 - Food Mods that start with the letter A (i.e. Avocado)
  • 9002 - Food Mods that start with the letter B
  • ...
  • 9026 - Food Mods that start with the letter Z
  • 9050 - Drink Mods that start with A
  • ...
  • 9075 - Drink Mods that start with Z
  • You can also further separate modifiers by adding the main category the modifier is attached to, with the second digit. Then, continue with the third and fourth digits applying to alphabetical representation.
  • 9101 - Entree Modifier (with letter A)
  • 9226 - Beer Modifier (with letter Z)
  • 9323 - Wine Modifier (with letter W)

Items: Will be identified with a 9-digit SKU where the first 4 digits represent the item category to which they belong.

Merchandise:

Menu Categories: Will be identified by two-digit integers and the following categories should be adhered to in general.

  • 10 - Apparel
  • 11 - Souvenirs
  • 19 - Consignments

Item Categories: Will be identified by three-digit integers where the first two digits are the menu category to which it is associated. We should use the Canopy Display Name to include the number identifier for the category.

  • 100 - Men’s Apparel
  • 101 - Women’s Apparel
  • 102 - Children’s Apparel
  • 103 - Hats

Items: Will be identified with a 7-digit SKU where the first 3 digits represent the item category to which they belong.
