Resolving the “Please Settle Batch” Error on PAX A800

⚠️ Issue Overview

This error occurs when the device reaches its local transaction storage limit (1,500 transactions). To resume processing, the local database must be cleared. To avoid this error entirely, please ensure devices are powered on overnight to perform the auto database clear

💡 No need to worry — funds are safe! All transactions are securely stored on the Shift4 gateway, even if they don’t appear on the device.


 

✅ Step-by-Step Instructions

1. 🖱️ Access the Debug Menu

From the idle screen, tap the top-center of the screen 7 times.


 

2. 🧭 Enable the Navigation Bar

When prompted, tap “SHOW STATUS BAR.”


 

3. ⚙️ Open Control Center

  • Swipe down from the top to reveal the navigation bar.
     

  • Swipe down again under the icons to reveal the settings button


 

4. 📱 Go to Apps & Notifications

  • Tap “Apps & Notifications.”

  • If Shift4 appears under “Recently opened apps,” tap it.
     
  • If not, tap “See all apps” and find Shift4.


 

5. 🚀 Launch the Shift4 App

Once you’ve selected Shift4, tap “Open.”

 


 

6. 🔐 Enter App Settings

  • Tap FUNC > Settings
     
  • Enter the password: 08485488 

    or 

    today's date in MMDDYYYY format.


 

7. 🧹 Clear Local Transactions

  • Tap Other Settings
     
  • Tap Clear All


 

🛑 This only clears local device memory. Offline-stored transactions will not be deleted.

 

8. 🏠 Return to SkyTab Venue

Tap the O (home) icon at the bottom of the screen.


9. 👀 Restore Normal View

  • Tap “Hide Status Bar.”
     
  • Tap anywhere outside the debug menu to return to the idle screen
