Refund an Order on the POS

Description: Learn how to perform a refund on the VenueNext POS and Canopy.


 

 

What is a Refund?

A refund is an act of returning funds to the customer. Reasons for refunds could be: 

  • The customer was dissatisfied with the services or products purchased
  • The customer was provided with the wrong items
  • The customer overpaid for an item 
  • The customer paid with the wrong payment method 

 

Refund an Order on the POS

 

  1. Log on to the VenueNext POS system.
     
  2. Select the hamburger menu (3 lines) in the top left corner of the menu screen.  
  3. On the dropdown menu that appears, select Orders.You You will see the orders screen.
  4. Locate the order being refunded and select the Details button. For this example, we will use order 21067.
  5. On the Order Details page, you can select Request Refund on the right side of the screen.
  6. On the Request Refund screen, select a reason from the dropdown menu titled “Select a refund reason.”
  7. Select which item needs to be refunded or if the entire order needs to be refunded.
  8. To continue, select the Refund button at the bottom of the screen.

    Note: This will not refund the order; it will merely put it into a queue of requested refunds, and a manager will have to approve it to finalize the refund in Canopy.
  9. You will be returned to the Order Details page, where you can select View Refund or Receipt on the right side of the screen. You can select “X” to return to the orders page from here.
  10. From the Orders page, select the hamburger menu (3 lines) and select where to go next.

  5. Sync Network Dara
  6. Debug
  7. LOGOUT

Refund an Order in the Orders Application

  1. Go to Menu Manager (Canopy 2.0) and select the venue where you performed the refund.
  2. From the left side menu, select Orders.  
  3. Select Pending Refunds.
  4. Select the order for which you want to approve the refund. Select the blue Refund button at the bottom of the screen to approve the refund.
