Description: This article covers the setup of A800 devices. These settings are crucial for the VenueNext app to operate as intended.

Connecting to your Wi-Fi or cellular network

  1. On the settings page, select Network & internet.
    • Note: You may be prompted to enter a password to enter Android Settings. If so, the default password is pax9876@@.
  2. Here you will have two options to connect to a network:
    • To connect to Wi-Fi, turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a secure network.
    • To connect to a cellular network, select mobile network.
      • We recommend using Wi-Fi if there is a secure network available for the POS. If cellular is turned on, it is a billable feature.

Android settings

  1. The settings in the table below should be checked/modified at the device's first start-up, as it's crucial for the VenueNext app to operate as intended.
    • We recommend that you connect to your network before checking any of the Android settings, as some of the settings will auto-update once connected.

  1. Once the above Android settings are completed, the next step is to open the Shift4 P2PE (BroadPOS) app and the VN POS app.
  2. Open the Shift4 P2PE (BroadPOS) app on the home screen. Upon opening the app you should be prompted to agree to the PAX user agreement.
    • If the agreement does not pop up, you can skip this step.
  3. Go back to the home screen and select the VN POS app.
  4. On the first launch, the VN App will request to take pictures and record video. Select allow.

  5. When the application opens, you will be prompted to scan a QR code with your phone's camera. Scan the QR code.
    • This will take you to the Canopy login page, where you can log in as usual. If you do not know your password, select Forgot Password to reset it.
    • If you do not receive a reset password link, please contact help@venuenext.com.
  6. Once you've logged in, select the Organization and Venue the device is associated with.
    • In most cases, you will have only one option under each drop-down menu, but if you have several and are unsure which one you should select, please contact help@venuenext.com.
  7. Once you have selected your Organization and venue, select submit and then move back to the device (A800) and select Done, if the device hasn't already moved to the menu selection screen.
  8. On the device, you'll be prompted to select either Concessions POS, Kiosk, or Customer Facing Display POS. Choose Concessions POS, then next, then you'll be prompted to select a menu.
  9. After selecting your desired menu, the device will be ready to use.
