Canopy 1.0


New Features & Enhancements

  • Removed the Loyalty Accounts section

    • Please use the Loyalty App going forward.

  • Removed other various sections and pages that are no longer supported and no longer used by any clients.

Bug Fixes

  • Merchant tokens are now masked to end-users

  • Removed the “View Archived Items” button from Global Items due to it being a legacy feature that is no longer supported


Loyalty App


New Features & Enhancements

  • Added a “Learn More” link to the upload modal which directs the user to support documentation relevant to uploads.

  • Added “Actioned By” to transactions in the Balance History of a Loyalty account.

    • When a user or manager awards/deducts virtual currency from a single account, their first name, last name, and email address will be added to the transaction. This also applies to bulk adjustments of virtual currency.

    • This is automatic and does not require input from the user.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where a user with several transactions containing an expiration did not fully expire.


Orders App (Formerly Refund App)


Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue when a user resends a receipt to a customer and the email was not captured in the text field

  • Fixed an issue where a broken image thumbnail was displayed for a signature when a signature didn’t exist on the order

New Features & Enhancements

  • Added the ability to create and manage Merchants in Settings

  • Added the ability to select a Merchant on Revenue Centers and Menus

  • Added a new banner to the top of the Display Categories section if sorting has not been enabled for the organization. The sort button will also be disabled if sorting has not been enabled for the organization.

    • Revenue Center Items and Orders is now RvC Items & Orders

  • Added a feature where the Menu filter has a sub-filter to only show the Location’s menus that are selected in the filtering

  • Added a KPI tile to the top of each of the following reports: Sales Summary, Operational Sales, RvC Items and Orders, Financial Sales and F&B Sales (each received an updated KPI tile with Service Charge, Discounts and Refunds fields)

  • Moved RvC Items & Orders and Devices reports below the Marketplace Sales report.

  • Beta Wallet Nonce export:

    • Now displaying non charged orders

    • Matched this report as close as possible to Wallet Nonce export, with new columns all at the end

  • Added Device ID field to Employee Sales by Creator & Payment Type tile in F&B Sales report

  • Added a Submitted Orders tile to the Devices report, this tile will report on orders that remain in a Submitted state.

  • Added Global Item Name and Event Name filters to the Marketplace Sales report.

Bug Fixes

  • Edited discount behavior to report on orders with stacked discounts. Any discount that is stacked will now be comma separated. This logic affects the following reports: F&B Sales, Merchandise Sales, RvC Items & Orders


Mobile Ordering & Wallet



New Features & Enhancements

  • To minimize confusion between the QR code in “My Badge” and the QR code for payments, the QR code in “My Badge” has been relocated to the “Balance Activity” screen behind a [ + ] button.  See image below

    • This QR Code on the Balance Activity screen is intended for administrators using the Loyalty app to easily deposit virtual currency onto a users account

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where increasing the quantity of items in the cart would break applied promotions

  • Fixed an issue where the seat picker could be dismissed in the cart screen, even if no seat is selected

  • Fixed an issue where required modifiers that are already selected are being prompted to select

  • Fixed an issue where selected single-option modifiers were not appearing on the order

  • Expiring virtual currency (e.g. loaded ticket value) will not be allowed to be transferred


Quick Service POS


New Features & Enhancements

  • Orders will now appear on the POS and be reported in DataNow as “Submitted” as soon as the card reader is triggered. In the case of a mid-transaction interruption (i.e. device reboot) preventing the order from being completed on the POS, it will remain in a “Submitted” state

    • Submitted orders will now be included in the Devices report in DataNow

  • If a credit card transaction receives an error on the card reader, it will now appear in the orders list on the POS and be reported in DataNow as “Submission Failed” 

  • There is now a card reader activation indicator in the header bar for diagnostic purposes (1 dot = not activated, 2 dots = activated)

  • PAX card readers will now be triggered more reliably when attempting to pay with a credit card, which will mitigate app “freezing” while waiting for the card reader to process payments

  • The current SAF mode will be persisted following a device reboot on PAX devices

  • POS and Kiosk menus can now be configured to ask the guest to confirm the default tip suggestion when one has not been deliberately selected

    • If your organization has a default tip amount configured, there are two ways to enable this functionality

      • Canopy 1.0: Settings → Order Options → Confirm Default Tip → Yes

      • Menu Manager: Settings → Venue Settings → Confirm Suggested Tip Percentage → Toggle On → Save

  • Orders paid with Custom tenders can now have gratuity added when tipping is enabled

  • Automatic version updates will now never interrupt the payment flow

  • If Ticket tender is enabled, it will be prioritized over Split to appear as a button in the cart

  • Various improvements to the “Other” payments list:

    • The list is now scrollable

    • Custom tenders now appear in alphabetical order

    • Only active payments types will appear

  • User will now be prevented from opening a Kiosk menu if the device is offline

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the app would sometimes reload a few seconds after logging in

  • Fixed an issue where the specific error message was not being displayed in order details for Unsyncable orders

  • Fixed an issue where the card reader was being activated for $0 orders on mobile devices

New Features & Enhancements

  • The app will now check device connectivity before switching from Offline Mode to Online Mode after the 30-minute cooldown period on PAX devices (introduced in v2.10.1)

  • Added more diagnostic logging

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where some lines on the receipt overlapped when there was a long item name
