QUICK SERVICE POS

NEW FEATURES / ENHANCEMENTS

  • The device will now be locked in Sync Mode from the time a sync is initiated, either manually or automatically. Unless stopped manually, the device will remain in sync mode and continue trying to sync transactions until all syncable transactions are successfully synced.
    • Note: An automatic sync will only occur if the device is idle for at least 30 minutes and it is online
  • While in Sync Mode:
    • The user will be locked into summary screen and all actions on the device will be blocked
    • The user will see an orange cloud upload icon (mobile, tablet) and the word Syncing (tablet only) in the header
    • The "Sync" button will be updated to "Stop Syncing"
    • The user can stop the sync manually by tapping "Stop Syncing", although this is not recommended
    • When the sync is complete and all orders have been successfully updated, the device will automatically exit Sync Mode and the user will be notified that all orders have synced
    • When the sync is complete and there are orders remaining in Approved Offline or there are unsyncable orders, the user will need to manually stop the sync to continue utilizing the device
  • The summary report contains the following updates:
    • Sync Status
      • Unsynced Card Transactions - This is the total number of transactions in an Approved Offline state. This replaces the total Credit Card transaction count that previously appeared above the sync button.
      • Unsynced Orders' Data - This is the total number of orders not yet in our database (i.e. Canopy, DataNow). This replaces the total number of unsynced orders to our database.
    • Orders Pending Refund (no changes)
    • Today's Synced Orders Totals (no changes)
    • Today's Synced Orders Tenders (no changes)
  • There will now be a message at the top of the summary screen reminding the user to sync if there are unsynced transactions on the device
  • The sync process will now happen in 3 distinct processes in the following order:
    • Synced to the database in Approved Offline
    • Batch uploaded to the processor
    • Order states updated to Completed or Declined in the database based on the processor response
  • Improved the syncing reliability of individual orders
  • Improved performance on the Kiosk when loading menus
  • Improved the reliability and efficiency of network detection
  • Improved the efficiency of POS token retrieval
  • If a device has an existing configuration, it will now always use that configuration on launch

PAX DEVICES ONLY

  • PAX invoice numbers will now be generated using the last 4 digits of the device ID + the VN order number
  • There is now a toggle in the Debug screen allowing users to manually toggle between Online First (payments will be processed online when possible) and Offline Only (all payments will be taken offline and processed once back online) modes
    • Note: When manually switching the toggle, the device will remain in Offline Only mode until manually toggling back to Online First mode
  • Devices will now automatically be switched to Offline Only mode for 30 minutes if one of the following occurs:
    • An Approved Offline order is placed; or
    • An online order receives a "Host Error" response from the gateway

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue where tapping the "Done" button after adding a tip and signing did not work consistently on mobile devices
  • Fixed an issue where Kiosk transactions were sometimes being closed to Cash
