π Overview
This guide walks you through setting up custom Charges & Fees in Canopy 2.0. These charges can be automatically applied to specific Revenue Centers or Menus, and once added, they will apply to every check under that menu or revenue center.
β οΈ Charges & Fees are automatically applied to orders and cannot be removed by staff during checkout.
π§Ύ Types of Charges & Fees
When creating a charge or fee, you'll choose from the following types:
πΉ Non-Taxable Service Charge

Applies a flat amount or percentage to every check

Commonly used for service or facility fees

πΉ Delivery Fee

Used for mobile/table delivery flows

Can also be configured as a flat amount or percentage
β Creating a Charge or Fee

Navigate to:
yourinstance-menu.ordernext.com
-
Click the Settings App on the bottom-left sidebar in Canopy 2.0

If the page refreshes, click the app again to reveal the dropdown menu

Select Charges & Fees
-
Click the β (Add) button in the top-right
π§ Configuration Fields
In the Add Charge or Fee menu, fill out the following:

Name: What guests and cashiers will see on receipts and POS

Type: Choose Non-Taxable Service Charge or Delivery Fee
-
Percentage: (Optional) Apply a % charge
-
Flat Amount: (Optional) Apply a dollar amount

Menus: Choose which Revenue Centers or Menus this fee applies to
Click SAVE when done.
π Final Steps
Once saved, the charge or fee will immediately take effect. To finalize setup:

Refresh and Sync Network Data on all POS workstations where you applied the Charge or Fee.
Your Charge or Fee is now live and operational! β
