PAX Q20 - Manual Updating Steps

To manually update your PAX Q20 device, follow these steps:

1. Accessing the Terminal Menu:

- Ensure there is no active transaction.

- At the home screen displaying the PAX logo, tap the four corners of the screen in a clockwise sequence, starting from the top-left corner. You should hear a beep with each press.

2. Entering the Password:

- When prompted, enter the password. The password is either the current date in MMDDYYYY format or 08485488.

3. Navigating to System Settings:

- From the terminal menu, select 'System Settings.'

4. Accessing App Management:

- Choose 'App Management.'

- Re-enter the above password

5. Updating the Application:

- Select 'App Update' to initiate the manual update process.

Handling the "Trans remain in DB" Error:

'Trans remain in DB' after selecting 'App Update,' it means transactions in the device database must be cleared. Ensure all offline approvals are synced before proceeding:

- Access the terminal menu as outlined above.

- When prompted, enter the password. The password is either the current date in MMDDYYYY format or 08485488.

- Navigate to 'System Settings.'

- Select 'Database.'

- Input the same password as above.

- Select 'Clear Database.'

- Select 'Yes' to confirm.

- Press the back arrow.

- Select 'Clear Offline.’

- Select 'Yes' to confirm.

- Reperform the app update steps again to update your device
